Approach

I provide a safe space for individuals and couples to explore and change patterns that are keeping them from living their best, fullest lives.

I use an integrative approach that draws from my background in family systems and psychoanalysis. We will collaborate and tailor our treatment to meet your specific needs and goals. I think it is important to address both the underlying core issues, as well as, specific behavioral changes that can help with your immediate concerns.

In individual therapy, I can help guide and support you through life’s challenges. We will develop a “tool kit” of practical strategies while also delving into deeper emotions and underlying issues.

In couples therapy, we will similarly develop a “tool kit” of strategies around communication and behavioral interactions in order to minimize conflict and increase connection. We will explore the broader systemic issues interfering with marital satisfaction such as the challenges of raising children, family-of-origin conflict, work-life balance issues, etc.. I use emotion-focused therapy techniques to help partners feel close and connected once again.

I have specialized training in working with infertility and perinatal mood disorders. I offer emotional support and practical guidance to help patients cope better and move through the heartbreak associated with these challenges. While there are common experiences in infertility and perinatal struggles, everyone’s path is unique.  We will set goals for treatment that meet you where you are in your process that may include stress and relaxation management; understanding and re-defining family planning; grieving the cumulative losses; establishing a meaningful and satisfying “new normal”.
